A lot has been said about the Ford Mustang for 2008. As Ford's entry in the coupe market the Mustang (and in this case specically the Shelby GT500 version) has maintained a good reputation. The 2-door Mustang is especially appealing to wide market segment, making it a perfect car to help Ford as a brand in general.
Several things can be said about the Ford Mustang series: including the polarizing reactions most buyers have towards their car. The eight-cylinder engine is at the heart of the strong emotions, it is powerful for its class and delivers a large amount of torque.
In 2008 Ford released the Mustang Base to the car-buying market. The Mustang came in six configurations: Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, Base, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500KR. The Base configuration is powered by the 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 24 - 26 highway miles and 16 - 17 city. The Mustang competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Honda.
A high point in the coupe market is the Ford Mustang. In 2008 Ford rolled out an upgraded version of the Mustang with six versions: Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, Base, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500KR. Sales for the Mustang, especially the Mustang Bullitt, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved reliability and the updated styling were responsible for the increased interest.
The restyled Mustang Bullitt is equipped with a 4.6-liter eight-cylinder engine that utilizes 24 valves. The engine is mated to a Tremec five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 2007 version.
