There have been several award-winning cars from Ford over the years, including the Ford Mustang of 1995. There are five trim levels to the Mustang, including SVT Cobra R, GT, GTS, and Base. 1995 Ford Mustang Base Specs

The restyled Mustang Base is equipped with a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that utilizes 12 valves. The engine is mated to a Borg Warner five-speed transmission. This has resulted in an increase in horsepower and torque over the 1994 version.

The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. Steering is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The Mustang uses power-assisted brakes, with Non-ABS support. Load balancing is provided by coil front springs and coil in the rear.

The fuel system for the 1995 Mustang is a traditional SFI, running on gasoline fuel. The fuel is controlled by an electronic system and is a fuel-injected MFI design. The capacity of the fuel tank is 15.40 gallons.

The Mustang is 182.20 inches long, 71.80 inches wide, and 53.40 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 101.30 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

The standard warranty period for the Mustang is 60* months, or 50,000* miles, whichever comes first. This is standard in the convertible market.

The listed retail price in 1995 (MSRP) was $21,300, with a dealer invoice cost of an industry-high price. This price is on target the industry average price for a two-door Convertible.

MPG Ratings

The Mustang Base received a miles-per-gallon rating of seventeen in-city driving and twenty five when it came to highway driving. Being a gas-powered non-hybrid car, this was within normal parameters.

What We Think of the Ford Mustang

The 1994 model began the promise of the Ford Mustang. The 1995 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Ford hopes that the Mustang Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.
