In 2008 Ford released the Mustang Base to the car-buying market. The Mustang came in six configurations: Shelby GT, Shelby GT500, Base, Bullitt, and Shelby GT500KR. The Base configuration is powered by the 4.0-liter six-cylinder engine, which makes 24 - 26 highway miles and 16 - 17 city. The Mustang competes in the Coupe market segment, in direct competition with Honda.
